Chapter 8

March 28th 2014

When she finally awoke from what she was sure had been a very long night pain was still rippling through her body. She opened hr eyes and saw only darkness. Wait was she blind? Had he blinded he will she was weak? She though back to last night. Had it been this dark then? She hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings as the pain had ripped through her. She thought harder. Yes. Yes it had been this dark. He'd closed the door as she'd hit the last step and had been plunged into darkness. She stood and listened carefully, trying to hear what was going on. It was no use. All she could here was running water. It was about that time that the door opened.
"Well good morning! I trust you had a pleasant night. Are you well rested?" She looked up into James' face.
"What do you want now?!"
"Oh didn't I tell you last night? Oh well I shall enlighten you. Its play time."
"Play time?"
"Yes. Everyday at dawn play time begins. There will be a brief interval at lunch. Then play time shall finish at sunset. This will happen everyday. Well, everyday until your eternal sleep comes about. So are we ready?"
"But I..I don't understand!"
"You don't need to. Let's play." He said. She watched as he cracked his knuckles. "Now what first? Hmm..how about...yes that will be the perfect start." He suddenly whirled on her, grabbing her by the shoulders and pushing her into some sort of metal contraption. With an audible snap it clamped shut around her wrists, neck and legs leaving her unable to move anything over than her head. Panic coursed through her body as she tried to pull herself free and realised that it too bound her powers leaving her weak and slow.
"Now then. First of all let's get these out of the way." He said dipping his hands around her waist and removing the two daggers she had hid below her shirt. "Actually, these could be helpful." He stepped back and met her gaze. "Now. Let the playing begin."
