Chapter 2

March 14th  2012

A young girl stands at the edge of a forest looking down the hill and into the small town settled there. She has one bag and is fiddling with the key around her neck.
"Okay, this is it. New town, new name, new country. A fresh start and this time he won't be here to screw it up" She started forward, moving gracefully down the hill with her bag in hand. The sun shone brightly, illuminating the small town full of light stone houses. The locals walk the quiet streets, enjoying the suns rays. The girl stops outside a small, run down house and slots the key in, giving it a sharp turn and gently pushing the door open. "Home. My new home." She quickly closed the door behind her and started looking around. "How lucky am I that I got this place? I mean I look twelve! The magic community are amazing." She poked her head into one of the rooms and squealed in excitement. "And it came with furniture! All I need to do is stock the cupboards with food, maybe paint the walls and it'll be perfect!" A huge smile spread across her face at the idea of having a permenant home again instead of moving from place to place and living in a tent. With a giddy laugh she went to look at the rest of the house. She saw the living room first which was an alarming shade of puke yellow and possessed only a battered arm chair and a small black and white TV. The kitchen came next, a small but surprisingly modern area with overhead cupboards and a pale marble floor. After that it was straight ahead to the small bathroom and shower combo. She opened the door to the final room and peaked inside. Her eyes widened in surprise. It was a large bedroom with a king sized poster bed. Thick drapes hung around the bed, concealing the satin covers. There was a dresser in the corner with an ornate mirror. The whole room was grand and reminded her of when she was a child.  Late nights singing her favorite songs. Dancing to the artists of her time. Those peaceful nights where not even a dream disrupted her sleep. With a sigh she snapped out of her daydreaming. That was her past. It was gone. Done. All she had was the here and now. Live in the present and stay on your feet. Slowly she moved over to the dresser, trailing her fingertips over the polished wood. She moved over to the bed, rubbing the satin covers between her fingertips. She loved the feel of satin.  It calmed her down and helped her relax.  She paused and slipped a needle from her pocket, sliding it into a vein and injecting the fluid into her blood stream. With a hesitant smile she climbed under the covers and fell into a deep sleep.
